Jessica Sui Harborne is a Registered Legal Translator and Interpreter accredited by the New Zealand Ministry of Justice in Auckland. She is fluent in both English and Mandarin, having been born in China and raised speaking Mandarin, and has lived in New Zealand for over 26 years.
Jessica holds practitioner membership (20588) with the New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters (NZSTI), where she also serves as President of the Auckland Branch and a National Council Member. She is additionally a full member of the Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators (AUSIT 70370943).
Her academic qualifications span multiple disciplines, including a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and Economics (China), a Bachelor of Business from Auckland University of Technology (majoring in Accounting), a Diploma in Business, a Diploma in Legal Executive Studies, and a Graduate Certificate in the Art of Translation and Interpreting from AUT.
In 2026, Jessica completed her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) through Auckland University of Technology. She has also recently completed her Professional Legal Studies and is currently awaiting admission to the Bar in September 2026.
Alongside her professional practice, Jessica is actively involved in the legal community, including membership in the Auckland Women Lawyers Association, where she has served as Treasurer and committee member for 2024 and 2025.

Jessica recently completed specialist training with Shine, organised by the New Zealand Ministry of Justice, providing professional development for translators and interpreters working in sensitive legal and community contexts. The training offered valuable insight into responding appropriately to cases involving sexual violence, gendered violence, and intimate partner violence, which remain present within families and communities across New Zealand.
Jessica has also recently completed her Bachelor of Laws (LLB), further strengthening her legal expertise alongside her established qualifications in translation and interpreting.
